Further, they will only leave the building under his voice command. He discloses that the patient zero was possessed by the evil and the Vatican sent him to save mankind. Owen locks a zombie inside a room using a crucifix. They are attacked by the zombie-like creatures and Dr. Owen (Jonathan Mellor) leads a three-men SWAT team inside the sealed off building to get blood sample from the girl Medeiros to develop an antidote. There's also the question of familiarity the first movie was so effective because it was all new, but the viewer is now ahead of the game and things feel a little diluted as a result.
#Rec 2 movie ending tv
The actors, who have little to do other than act terrified, are fine, but the film lacks one central character: Angela Vidal, the TV reporter from the first (and who cameos here) was the lynchpin who held that film together but individual characters and personalities are lost here amid the rest. The scary scenes are genuinely disturbing, emphasising Exorcist-style possession with lots of bleeding faces and eerie voices. It's still a decent film, and miles ahead of the usual fare. I always find that more equals less when it comes to horror films and this is a case in point.
#Rec 2 movie ending Patch
The various head cameras allow for multiple viewpoints and the story expands from the first in terms of the explanation for the outbreak, but as scariness goes this isn't a patch on the first chilling outing.

It's set literally minutes after the first film ended and once again consists of filmed footage, this time from the point of view of a SWAT team sent in to find out what's going on. This follow-up to the Spanish zombie hit REC offers more of the same. The movie is certainly well-made but one wishes that a little more work had been done with the screenplay. The tension level is quite high at the end of the film and there are a few good jump scenes scattered throughout. For the most part the performances are just fine. I won't reveal what happens but it's certainly very rewarding. Like the first film, the ending uses a lot of night vision and it really works here as the suspense level grows rather high. As with the first film the two are able to create a rather thick and creepy atmosphere that they have going throughout the picture but this really comes into play during the final ten-minutes. What does work in the film is the terrific atmosphere built up by directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza. The characters are so poorly written that you can't help but hate them and their stupidness is just so annoying that it really takes away from the movie. This leads to the worst thing in the movie and this is three teenagers who sneak into the apartment. After a while you really need to say something else and the way it was constantly thrown around made you think like we were at a high school party. I will admit that the word is my favorite to use but man. Another obnoxious thing was how many times the "F" word was said throughout. With the SWAT team I can't tell you how aggravated I became with everyone constantly saying "Chief." After a while I really wished all the SWAT members were dead so I wouldn't have to hear them keep saying that one word over and over. Another problem I had was with the dialogue, which was rather poorly written in my opinion. I think the religious aspect could have worked but the way it plays out often took away from the scares as what we see has been done much better in other movies. I won't spoil the major twist in the film in regards to what is going on inside the apartment complex. I think this sequel features a lot of good moments but there's no way to deny that there are some questionable things that happen throughout and I'd argue that a few of the turns in the story really weren't needed and never added up to much. 2 is a pretty good if flawed sequel but it certainly falls well short of the original, which rightfully has become a cult classic in just the few years that it's been released. This time a SWAT team and a medical officer enter the apartment building searching for what might possibly lead to a cure and an explanation for the outbreak. 2 (2009) *** (out of 4) Sequel to the 2007 hit picks up where that film left off.
